Indian School students excel in CBSE board exams

Muscat: Students from Indian Schools in Oman have achieved remarkable success in the recently announced Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results for 2024. This year’s results mark a historic high, with a notable increase in the number of high achievers compared to previous years, setting new academic benchmarks.


Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Indian Schools in Oman, commended the students for their outstanding performance. He attributed this success to the combined efforts of the principals, teachers, school management, and parents who provided unwavering support and innovative measures to enhance the students’ learning experience.


“All stakeholders in education had pulled together to ensure that students did their best by providing a very positive educational environment. It is the efforts of the teachers in doing the continuous follow-up; and parents with their unstinting support that helped the students perform to their best,” said Dr. Manickam while congratulating the students and schools.


The top performers in Class 12 from the Science stream include Yadu Krishna Balakrishnan of Indian School Darsait with 99%, Sadiya Khatoon (Indian School Salalah), and Aman Saji (Indian School Sohar) both with 98%. The third position was jointly held by Nityant Kaarthik Rao of Indian School Muscat and Ojas Pandey of Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir, each scoring 97.8%.


In the Commerce stream, Gunjan Karwani of Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir topped with 98.6%, followed by Jamiehitesh Ramaiya of Indian School Sohar with 97.4%, and Devika Balakrishnan of Indian School Al Ghubra with 96.6%.


For the Humanities stream, the highest scorer was Kiara Denise Frank of Indian School Al Ghubra with 98.6%. Bhumika Gulani and Hansi Thakur of Indian School Muscat secured the second position with 98%, and Rithika Chandramohan of Indian School Al Ghubra came third with 97.8%.


Class 10 students also performed exceptionally well. Riti Mithesh Patel of Indian School Muscat and Akshaya Alagappan of Indian School Al Maabela topped with 98.8%. The second position was shared by Bhargavi Vaidya of Indian School Al Maabela, Ann Sinu Kurian, and Vishaka Rahul Shinde of Indian School Muscat, each scoring 98.6%. Ananditha Sashidar of Indian School Muscat secured the third position with 98.4%.


Indian Schools in Oman maintain an inclusive admission policy, welcoming all students regardless of academic performance. To support students, the schools have implemented initiatives such as Remedial Classes, Virtual Learning Environments, and common pre-board examinations, aimed at ensuring the well-being and academic success of their students.
