Muscat: The Public Knowledge Library in Al Quraim organised a training course entitled 'Digital Entrepreneurship' targeting 56 students, as part of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science's 2024 cultural activity plan.

The two-day training course aims to introduce students to the concept of digital entrepreneurship and its indicators. It also includes practical workshops to develop digital entrepreneurial ideas and projects from scratch to be sold in the Omani market, using modern digital methods that align with Vision 2040 and artificial intelligence.

Naima bint Rashid al Masoudiyah, innovation specialist for the first Scientific Olympiad and implementer of the training workshop, said: "The training course aims to introduce students to the concept of entrepreneurship and its indicators in entrepreneurship. The training course will also address practical workshops to develop digital entrepreneurial ideas and projects from scratch to be sold in the Omani market using modern digital methods that align with Vision 2040 and artificial intelligence. In addition, the course will discuss some prominent Omani figures in digital entrepreneurship."

Al Masoudiyah stressed the need to inculcate the concept of digital entrepreneurship among students, and that it should be studied as a subject in schools in grades 10 and 11. Through these training courses, whether in entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, or future career skills, students can determine the specialisation that suits their interests after completing their school education.

For his part, Yusuf al Amri explained that the library is working to organise and implement cultural events that meet the needs and interests of different audiences. He pointed out that the workshops and events offered are prepared and approved by the Department of Libraries at the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science. They also vary according to the seasons and developments in the cultural and technological world.

With regard to the 'Digital Entrepreneurship' workshop, Al Amri emphasised the importance of this topic at the present time, due to the rapid changes in the field of e-commerce and technical innovation. The workshop has been designed to provide participants with the opportunity to learn and interact practically with modern concepts and tools in the field of digital entrepreneurship.

Al Amri also stressed the importance of directing young people towards a deeper understanding of the entrepreneurial process and encouraging them to develop innovative ideas and projects that can contribute to the development of society and strengthen the local economy.
