Muscat: School of Confidence Oman (SOCO) successfully held its second annual speech and drama competition on May 11, 2024.

Held in an atmosphere brimming with talent and creativity, participants showcased their exceptional skills at the prestigious event, hosted at Hotel Muscat Holiday’s Sur Ballroom in Al Khuwair.

The event saw over 150 solo performances by children between the ages of 5 and 15. They participated in activities like public speaking, monologue, and storytelling. Each performance was a testament to the dedication and passion of the young talents who graced the stage.

Started in 2021, SOCO has grown exponentially and is a leading institute in the Sultanate of Oman. It is rightly the first name that comes to the parents’ minds when thinking of building confidence and overcoming stage fear.

SOCO is a place not just for shy and reticent kids but for those who are outspoken and require polishing to channelise their energies.

The second annual speech and drama competition further solidifies SOCO’s reputation as a beacon of excellence in education and the arts, providing a platform for students to showcase their talents and build essential skills for success in the modern world.

Reflecting on the success of the event, Shadaf Bhamla, Founding Director & Educator of SOCO, expressed profound gratitude to participants and supporters whose unwavering dedication made the event possible. “The second annual speech and drama competition exemplifies our unwavering dedication to empowering the next generation of leaders and storytellers,” Shadaf remarked. “We are immensely proud of the talent and passion demonstrated by all participants, and we look forward to continuing our mission of nurturing creativity and self-confidence in the years to come.”

A parent testified saying, “We have seen a remarkable difference in our child. The credit for my son’s transformative journey from being hesitant to confident goes to Shadaf. She rightly identifies the talent in each and every child and helps them excel accordingly. She is not just a mentor to our kids but also a source of inspiration for us, adults.”

As SOCO looks ahead to future endeavours, the resounding success of the annual speech and drama competition serves as a testament to the organisation’s steadfast commitment to excellence in education and the arts. With the support of its community and partners, SOCO remains steadfast in its mission to inspire, educate, and empower young minds across Oman and beyond.
