Muscat: The 11th International ELT Symposium hosted by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Shinas has once again proven to be a beacon of academic excellence, drawing in scholars, researchers, students, and educators from across the globe.
With a theme focusing on promoting academic excellence, teaching innovation, research, integrity and the latest trends and developments in English Language Teaching (ELT), the symposium has set new standards in participation and engagement.
This year's event received an overwhelming response, with more than 35 papers submitted from various corners of the world. From this pool, 21 exceptional papers were selected for presentation, showcasing cutting-edge research and innovative practices in the field of ELT.
A key highlight of the symposium was the diverse representation of participants, with over 300 attendees hailing from different countries and nationalities. Notably, the majority of participants were from branches of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), underlining the widespread interest and importance of the event within the academic community.
Presenters from Oman, including keynote speaker Professor Ali al Issa along with those from the UK, Singapore, Canada, India, Morocco, Iran, and Indonesia, brought a global perspective to the discussions, enriching the symposium with a wide range of insights and experiences.
The symposium, held online on May 9, was appreciated for its seamless execution and engaging sessions. Head of the Preparatory Studies Center, Amal al Jahwari, praised the staff professional development committee for their meticulous organisation and dedication in ensuring the success of the event.
The participants praised the comprehensive coverage of topics and the opportunity to connect with ELT professionals worldwide.
