During the meeting, the Unit outlined the main aspects of its duties and reviewed ways of enhancing cooperation and partnership with governors’ offices with the aim of realising the goals of Oman Vision 2040. Emphasis was laid on the application of decentralisation as a key indicator for the development of governorates and sustainable cities.
The meeting was held in the presence of Dr Khamis bin Saif al Jabri, Chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit. It explained the procedures undertaken by the Unit during its follow-up of the implementation of the Vision.
The meeting included visual presentations, including one on a project titled “Institution Indices” that defines the role of each government department in meeting the targets of Oman Vision 2040.
Acting in partnership with government institutions, the Unit developed “Goal Cards” defining the main objectives of the vision and the extent to which they were met. A total of 55 goal cards were approved until the first quarter of 2024, including those pertaining to the governorates.
The meeting also touched on simplifying procedures, facilitating services and developing systems to ensure that the beneficiaries get top quality and prompt services. — ONA
