A resident dentist has paved the path for many to follow by authoring a mandate of real time experiences that can be a benchmark for young Omani dentists in the country.
Titled 'Bioceramics in Endodontics', the book by Dr Viresh Chopra, Assistant Professor of Adult Restorative Dentistry at the Oman Dental College has already become a name for ambitious dentists in researches and higher studies.
"This book is a practical set of articles in the emerging field of Endodontics focusing on overall makeup of dental Bioceramics and relevant clinical situations in endodontics where various forms of bioceramics have been used to treat teeth successfully," said Dr Chopra upon his return after launching the book in the UK.
The 300-paged pocket size book foreworded by Prof Nutayla bint Said al Harthiyah, the ex-Dean of Oman Dental College and Stephen Cohen, Diplomate, American Board of Endodontics, San Francisco, is accompanied by a companion website, www.wiley.com/go/chopra/bioceramicsinendodontics.
Dr Viresh earlier authored a book titled 'Clinical Atlas of Retreatment in Endodontics' which had received critical overview from various educational corners.
A collated version of real time experiences in endodontics by highly qualified authors with significant experience in the field from across the world, the book aims to shed information on various material characteristics of bioceramics that Endodontists and clinicians should be aware of how to give relief to Endodontics patients using bioceramics repair materials.
Dr Viresh, who is also the Course Lead in Endodontology said that the book is a collection of evidence-based decisions between coneless and coned obturations, and healing of periapical lesions over a recall period of 3 to 5 years.
"Through this book, I aim to set an essential core overview of the field of bioceramics in Endodontics and related applications, and a must-have resource for dental practitioners in the Sultanate of Oman in particular and across the world in general," said Dr Chopra who is also a PhD Researcher at Bart's and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University in London.
