MUSCAT: Oman Club emerged victorious in the Oman Handball First Division League title after a thrilling win over Seeb in the final match held under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, at the main hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher. Oman Club managed to finish the season undefeated after winning the final match by a score of 29/25.
Oman Club dominated from the start despite the championship's outcome being almost certain before the final match. The game was an exciting one, with Seeb making a determined effort to tie the score. However, Oman Club managed to maintain their lead and secure the victory.
The match kicked off with Seeb taking the lead and scoring the first goal against Oman's goalkeeper Azzan al Azzani, who played a crucial role in his team's victory. Oman players quickly regained possession of the ball, and after a few passes, Asad al Hassani scored the first goal of the match in the second minute. His teammate Hamad al Dagshi followed suit, scoring the second goal in the third minute.
Seeb responded with several attempts to break through Oman's defence, and Qais al Hassani managed to score the first goal for Seeb. Tahir quickly responded for Oman Club by scoring the third goal. Seeb players then scored two more goals to tie the score at 3-3.
Oman Club players increased their possession, with Nasr scoring two goals from the midfield, bringing the score to 5-3. The exchange of attacks continued, and Oman Club managed to score several points to make the score 10-5. Seeb's coach then requested a timeout, and his team returned with high spirits, scoring five consecutive goals to tie the score at 10-10. The pace of the match increased after the tie, with each team scoring three points each, resulting in a 13-13 draw at the end of the first half.
In the second half, although Qais al Hassani scored the first goal of the half from a 7-metre throw in the first minute, Oman Club remained calm and returned to play with high concentration and experience. Their players shone and raised their level of performance, enabling them to equalise the score and take the lead through Tahir and Abdulaziz, making the score 14-15.
Despite Seeb taking the lead and extending the gap to two points in the 42nd minute, Oman Club responded strongly and managed to equalise the score and then take the lead again. The struggle between the two teams continued until the end, with Oman Club emerging victorious by a margin of four points to claim the title with a score of 29-25.
In another match, Muscat Club secured second place after a hard-fought victory over Ahli Sidab by 27-26. The match witnessed exciting twists and turns in the score before Muscat managed to turn the tables and finish the season in second place, with Seeb taking third place.
