Muscat: Rains continued as a result of local clouds formation over Al Hajar Mountains on Monday as clear to partly cloudy skies are expected on Tuesday over most of the governorates with chances of convective cloud development and isolated rain occasionally.
The weather pattern could also be expected on Wednesday, May 1. There is also a chance of isolated rain along the coastal areas of Dhofar Governorate with the possibility for late night to early morning low clouds or fog patches over parts of Al Sharqiyah South, Al Sharqiyah North, Dakhiliyah, Al Wusta, Al Batinah South and parts of Oman Sea coastal areas.
In the forecast is also dust rising over desert and open areas.
On Monday cumulus clouds continued to form over the Al Hajar Mountains, and rain of varying intensity and thunderstorms continued to fall over parts of Al Dakhiliyah, Al Batinah South and Al Batinah North governorates, and clouds extended over parts of the coastal areas of the Sea of Oman.
Thunderstorm cell activity was experienced over parts of Musandam and Al Batinah North governorates as rainfall of varying intensity, with cumulus clouds formed over the Al Hajar Mountains, and rainfall of varying intensity, accompanied by active winds and hail during the late afternoon.
Wadi Al Sahtan Waterfalls in Al Rustaq came into focal point on Monday and rains were also recorded in Suhar and other areas.
Along Oman Sea coasts, winds are expected to be easterly to northeasterly light to moderate at day time becoming variable light at night, while over the rest of the governorates it will be southerly to southwesterly light to moderate occasionally fresh along Arabian Sea coasts and desert areas.
