Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has booked commercial establishments for selling children's sweets with inappropriate packaging such as depicting a pack of cigarettes.
The products were immediately withdrawn and investigated, and legal measures were taken against the offenders.
The supplier was also obligated to stop distributing the product and withdraw it from the market.
Article 21 of the Consumer Protection Law stipulates that the provider is obligated to respect religious values, customs, and traditions when providing the consumer with any good or service.
