

Cairo: Oman took part in the sixth conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments in Cairo on Saturday.
Khaled al Maawali, Chairman of the Majlis Ash'Shura, headed the Omani delegation to the Conference.
The conference discussed, among other topics, the safe use of artificial intelligence. Participants presented their vision, as parliamentarians, for the optimal use of artificial intelligence technologies. They discussed the challenges facing this field, in addition to the opportunities for optimal utilization of artificial intelligence technologies to advance development in Arab countries. The conference issued a document on 'Arab Parliamentary Vision for Safe Employment of Artificial Intelligence.'
In his speech Al Maawali said artificial intelligence an essential driver of economic growth and increased productivity.
He said Shura , through the work of the permanent committees, has looking into many challenges facing artificial intelligence.
