Muscat: Oman Under-19 football team will get back to action with an overseas camp from April 29 and to May 3 in Manama. During the camp, the national team will play some friendly games against Bahrain and the exact dates of the matches will be released soon.

The purpose of this warm-up gathering is to ensure better preparations for the junior Red Warriors in the forthcoming assignments including the West Asian Championship which will be held in Saudi Arabia in the middle of the current year. Then, the team will take part in the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2025 Qualifiers in September, while the finals of 2025 AFC U20 Asian Cup is scheduled to take place in February 2025.

Oman’s team, coached by Ahmed al Alawi, had its last external camp in Kuwait in March. The junior team had played two games against the hosts. Oman won the first match 3-1 and the second match 1-0. The junior Red Warriors goals were netted in the opening match by Masoud al Bahri, Fahad al Mukhaini and Al Hussain al Qasmi, while Abdullah Faris scored for Kuwait. Al Qasmi scored the only goal in the second match.

Oman’s junior stars had shown good efforts in the latest camp and it is expected that more camps and events will shape the players' readiness for the upcoming events and raise the harmony among them and to enter into the official matches mood ahead of official events.

The forthcoming Bahrain friendly games will act as a great opportunity for the coaching staff to do a proper evaluation of the players' technical capabilities and help them to prepare the starting lineup. The head coach of Oman team, Ahmed al Alawi, opted 24 players for Bahrain camp.
