Muscat: The Minister of Information, Dr Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, is making a statement at the eighth regular session of the first annual session of the tenth term of Majlis A'Shura.

The Ministry is undertaking a comprehensive makeover, including content for its two newspapers, Oman and Oman Observer, in light of the continuous development and expansion of the Omani press, sensing the reader’s need and passion for knowledge.
He mentioned that the local media focuses on economic growth through TV programs and Oman Observer plays an important role.
The Ministry of Information is working on programs and projects to achieve the goals of its Oman 2040 Vision, and during the year 2023, it worked on several projects, including increasing the number of media products that aim to spread awareness and introduce the government's achievements.
Omani media is fulfilling its role of providing and disseminating knowledge, achieving cultural openness with others, and emphasizing the principle of freedom of opinion and its expression within the limits of the law.
The Ministry plays a major role in the field of media training and development through the Media Training Center to provide specialized training programs for the Ministry’s employees, those working in the media field at private media institutions, workers in media departments, and departments in various government units.

The number of visitors to the Muscat International Book Fair in its 28th edition was 349,172, and the number of books and publications reached more than 600,000.
The exhibition also organized 280 events in the fields of science, knowledge, and culture, including 131 dedicated events for children.
