The various sectors emanating from the National Committee for Emergency Management (NCEM) are fully prepared to provide assistance and to deal with the weather situation and are present in field sites.

Weather meteorologist Ahmed bin Abdullah al Balushi mentioned that the expected rain on Tuesday would be heavy and concentrated in the governorates of Musandam, Al Batinah North, Al Dhahirah and Al Buraimi, and gradually extending to the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, Al Batinah South and Muscat.

While caution must be taken to avoid the risk of losing lives, some receive rain with a different behaviours which are positive and negative.

The authorities seek to control bad behaviour, but some resort to repeating the offence despite the enactment of strict laws such as impounding vehicles, fining drivers, and imprisoning them.

NCEM also advised against removing children from gatherings near wadis and away from electricity poles. Citizens and expatriates alike also received an emergency warning, including an alert that will be affected by very heavy rains that will lead to the flow of wadis. Such alerts promise to speed up the process of taking immediate measures to reduce the negative consequences of risks.

The Early Warning Broadcast System is a system developed by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in cooperation with the Civil Aviation Authority and telecommunications service providers to improve the national early warning and warning system in cases of emergencies and natural disasters.

This system broadcasts special electronic warning notifications to all mobile phones located in the targeted area and participating in the local communication lines.

This system is subject to the General Warning Protocol issued by the International Telecommunication Union, which links the operator alert broadcasting system (CBC) and the dissemination and warning system.
