Families cherish this occasion as it signifies a milestone in their children's fasting journey, with the first half of Ramadan being dedicated to fasting.
Qaranqasho is a cherished tradition in Oman, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, observed on the 14th night.
It involves children dressing up in colorful traditional attire and carrying small bags or baskets, going from door to door in their neighborhoods.

This special night, aptly named Al-Aqabah for its role as a barrier between fasting and Eid, holds deep significance as families come together to commemorate their children's dedication and commitment to observing the holy month.
On this night, children wear their beautiful traditional clothes. It's a night that brings joy and happiness to children's spirits. They roam around the streets, and villages raising their voices in praise and gratitude for the blessings they have received.
The Nizwa Charity team organized a celebration for this occasion at Nizwa Castle. Around 100 children of various ages participated enthusiastically in the Celebration. Sweets were distributed to them, and afterward, the children strolled through the neighborhood, chanting praises and gratitude to God.
Loay al Subhi, a participant in the Al Night, said: “this is the first time I have participated in Al Aqabah. I loved the atmosphere very much. I am now happy because I fasted this month. I will complete the rest of my fasting. I am glad that someone honors our strength and effort in fasting I will participate every year.”
The event also featured competitions, chants performances, and recitations of prayers.
Despite the variations in names and this Ramadan traditions, this occasion is inherited in many regions of Oman.
The Al Aqabah Night occasion is a special night for children, painting joy on their faces and love for fasting.
