Muscat: A commercial establishment in the Wilayat of Mussanah was caught selling adulterated engine oil as original and the case was referred to the competent authorities, said the Civil Protection Authority (CPA).


The competent court found the establishment and its representative guilty of the offense of trading counterfeit goods.


The representative was sentenced to one year of imprisonment and a fine of RO2,000. Additionally, upon completion of the imprisonment term, the representative is to be deported.


The court also ordered the confiscation of the adulterated materials and mandated the defendants to cover the expenses associated with the public action.
