Muscat: Airports Council International (ACI) World in partnership with Amadeus, has announced the best airports for customer experience worldwide — as chosen by passengers.
The Airport Service Quality (ASQ) program is a global airport customer experience measurement and benchmarking program, using scientific methodology.
Including Salalah, nine regional airports have won ASQ Awards in five departure categories.
Including Muscat, eight airports were inducted into the ACI World Director General’s Roll of Excellence — a recognition given to airports that have won multiple ASQ awards over five years in the last 10 years.
Salalah Airport is the best in the Middle East (under two million passengers per year) while Muscat comes under the 15 to 25 million passengers per year category.
Salalah also scores for the airport with the most dedicated staff, easiest airport journey, most enjoyable airport, and the cleanest airport.
As per the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the number of passengers traveling through Salalah Airport in January 2024 was 120,506, an increase of 14 per cent from 2022.
