Nizwa: To promote handcrafts, a two-day exhibition was held at the Oman Across Ages Museum, which concluded on Saturday. About 30 craftspeople and craft organizations from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman displayed their work at the museum premises.

The exhibition was organised by the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development. It was opened by Halima al Zari, Head of ASMED, in the presence of Wali of Manah, the Director-General of the Oman Across Ages Museum and the sheikhs of the governorate.

The crafts in the exhibition ranged from palm leaf weaving, wood, natural stones, pottery, textiles, leather, soap making, perfumes, and paper making.

The exhibition was accompanied by various workshops on pottery making, and clay sculpting for children. It was also accompanied by traditional music and a dialogue session.

ASMED's Al Zari said: "We are very happy with these events and activities that we held in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, which is considered the destination for entrepreneurship in the Sultanate. The week was truly filled with many activities, starting with the entrepreneurship evening, in which we celebrated young and old entrepreneurs. The Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, and especially the Wilayat of Nizwa, is a role model and we learn from them too. " She added: "The meeting with the entrepreneurs on the second day was an opportunity to listen closely to the owners of small and medium enterprises, entrepreneurs about their aspirations and challenges, what they seek, and what improvement we can offer them in services.

" The exhibition is also an outcome of training programmes. We are proud of the improvements and development of product design in the craft industries sector in the Sultanate of Oman."
