Sur Maritime Festival activities suspended

Muscat: In coordination with the National Committee for Emergency Management's subcommittee in the South al Sharqiyah Governorate, and to ensure public safety,


the activities of the Sur Maritime Heritage Festival were suspended on Friday evening.


The organizing company has been informed to withdraw all materials, tools, and electrical Games from the festival area.


The Maritime Heritage Festival in the Wilayat of Sur in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate attracted large numbers of visitors and tourists as it included activities such as windsurfing, a sailing experience, a fishing competition, a symposium, a traditional boat race, a display of Omani traditional games and sports, in addition to a kite flying.


Tourists to the wilayat also visited Sunaysila Fort, the old market, the lighthouse, the Al-Rayyan Museum, the dhow Factory, the Fateh Al-Khair Center, and the archaeological city of Qalhat, among others.


Visitors also enjoyed the food carnival, which allowed visitors to explore most Omani and international dishes, with a focus on fresh seafood, in addition to the activities of the marine heritage village, through which the visitor learned about the maritime heritage of Sur.
