The Royal Court Affairs represented by Royal Camel Corps (RCC) concluded their participation for first time in the second edition of Saudi Camel Festival (Jadet Al Ebel), organised by Camel Club in Saudi Arabia, which was held from February 24 to March 6, in Hail, the northwest of Saudi Arabia.
During the festival, the Royal Camel Corps thanked a number of young people who performed many traditional Omani arts, such as the art of Al Humbal, Al Azi, Al Tagrud, Al Tariq and Al Hamasiya.
In addition to a welcome sign by camels, a display of full presentation skills, such as turning, sleeping and crawling and the entry of camels between the arches of fire, were performed.
Hazza bin Hattan al Ruwaished, owner of the camels, said: “What the Sultanate of Oman represents by RCC is the original heritage of camels and they are still training camels and their participation is a great addition to the festival”.
Fayez bin Saud al Shammari, one of the participants, thanked the RCC for sharing Omani heritage arts to Saudi society and introducing them to an enthusiastic crowd.
Humaid bin Ali al Zaree, Director General of Royal Camel Corps, said, “We thank the Saudi Camel Club for the warm reception and generous hospitality and for providing necessary facilities, as the RCC's participation, according to everyone’s testimony, is effective in achieving their goals, which pushes them towards being a part of the major festivals, and our goal through this participation is to show the strength and relationship of the two partners in promoting areas of common culture.”
Hamid Zari said: "The RCC possesses purebred of Omani camels which can face strong competition from the Arabian and GCC camels. And the wide turnout we have witnessed is encouraging for further participation at advanced levels''.
