Muscat: The Minister of Education has issued decision 2024/50 regarding the Teacher’s Day holiday, based on the system of the state’s administrative apparatus issued by Royal Decree 75/2020 and Royal Decree 79/2020 defining the powers of the Ministry of Education and approving its organizational structure.
Article 1 states that February 24 of each year is an official holiday for members of the educational staff and those working in related jobs in government and private schools on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
The Minister of Education may modify the vacation date if Teacher’s Day falls during the weekends if the public interest so requires.
Article Two stated that the decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and shall be effective from the day following the date of its publication, which is February 28, 2024.
