An Omani company has come up with label-less bottles as these plastic wrappers are made of oriented polypropylene and glue that are not easily recyclable and harmful to the environment.

International Foods and Beverages' brand Barzman has been the pioneer in introducing label-less bottle concept, underscoring its steadfast commitment to Oman's 2050 environmental sustainability goals.

"This visionary approach not only showcases our continuous improvement policy but also marks a paradigm shift in eco-friendly packaging innovations across the GCC," Saif Mohamad Khatrosh al Noumani, Chairman of International Foods and Beverages LLC told the Observer.

“The label-less bottle concept signifies a leap towards streamlining the recycling process. With this Barzman is boldly eliminating foreign materials like OPP labels and glue. By doing so, the company prioritizes environmental sustainability, fostering ease in PET bottle recycling, and laying the groundwork for a more efficient circular economy, " Ahmed al Hajri, General Manager of International Foods and Beverages LLC, said.

Such pioneering moves to reduce plastic waste will aim to revolutionise the PET bottle recycling landscape, presenting a bottle-to-bottle recycling opportunity that promotes environmental sustainability at every stage.

Plastic bottles are harmful to our environment and on an average these bottles consume about 2.7 million tonnes of plastic each year globally.
