MUSCAT — In collaboration with the National Museum, the Embassy of Italy in Muscat will celebrate the Italian Design Day in the World in its 8th edition with a roundtable discussion on the future of design under the theme “Manufacturing Value: Inclusiveness, Innovation & Sustainability”, as a step towards supporting the promotion of design and the internationalization of a strategic industrial sector for Italian exports.
The event will feature Prof. Alba Cappellieri, Ambassador of Design to the Sultanate of Oman and Department Head of Design at the Polytechnic University of Milan, as well as representatives from the Omani world of design. The event will take place on March 5, 2024 at the National Museum, targeting fashion and design entrepreneurs and enthusiasts.
This event aims to boost Italian-Omani cooperation in this field and support exchanges and education of youth designers.
Additionally, Prof. Alba Cappellieri will conduct a lecture on the future of design, innovation and sustainability for the students of design at the Scientific College of Design in Muscat.
The Italian Design Day is the annual theme-based review launched in 2017 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration and with the support of the Ministry of Culture. It consists of an extensive program of promotional events around the world, created by the network of Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and ICE Offices abroad.
