Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has announced the winners of the first consumer-friendly establishments of 2023, the initiative which was launched in 2023.
The Sultan Center Qurm branch got 93 percent, the Lulu Hypermarket Al Bandar Branch 82% and the Ramez Centre 70 percent.
"These establishments have implemented the basic criteria namely focusing on consumers, developing mechanisms for customers' satisfaction, meeting customers' needs, and innovating in providing their services.
The initiative, aimed at raising awareness of consumer rights and duties in retail, commercial, and industrial sectors, honored establishments that contributed to the campaign.
The CPA intended to promote healthy competition among commercial, industrial, and service establishments and to continuously improve the services provided to consumers. It also sought to reduce consumer complaints, increase awareness of consumer rights and responsibilities among consumers and workers, and develop strategies to meet consumer needs sustainably. The campaign initially targeted all commercial establishments and later expanded to include industrial and service establishments.
The evaluation criteria were based on three main factors: customer focus, customer satisfaction mechanisms, and development and innovation in services.
The standards were assessed through recording, evaluation, and analysis stages, with results presented accordingly.
