MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, will host the third edition of the "Global Travel Week - Middle East" event today, Sunday, at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel over four days. The event will feature 94 tourism specialists from various countries worldwide and around 31 Omani tourism establishments, in addition to hotels.
This event is part of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism's efforts to promote luxury tourism sector in Oman, attracting tourism companies and professionals from various countries to meet with their counterparts from tourism institutions and work on mutual cooperation.
During the event, introductory trips will be organised for major international tourism companies to get a better understanding of tourist attractions and experiences in various governorates of Oman to provide a comprehensive picture for these companies. Fourteen tourism companies were selected to conduct introductory trips in the Dhofar Governorate.
Haitham bin Muhammad al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said, “This event is a valuable addition to the list of luxury tourism companies and has proven through its previous editions that it adds high value to businesses and companies.”
He added that the Ministry’s hosting of this event will contribute to strengthening international cooperation in the field of luxury tourism, exchanging experiences and knowledge, and strengthening the position of the Sultanate of Oman as a luxury tourist destination on the global stage.
