In a thrilling match, Nizwa Club defeated Al Suwaiq with a score of 66-56, while Al Seeb Club won Salalah with a score of 60-38. The match marked the conclusion of the second round of the Youth Basketball League for the 2023-24 . Both matches were held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
With these results, Seeb continues to lead the standings with 12 points, followed by Salalah in second place with 10 points, Nizwa in third place with 8 points and Al Suwaiq in forth with 6 points.
Nizwa managed Al Suwaiq
In the first match, Nizwa managed to defeat Al Suwaiq after an exciting match. The winner dominated in terms of points, despite a strong start from Al Suwaiq to lead the first quarter and taking the 16-9 lead.
In the second quarter, the game changed, and advantage shifted in favour of Nizwa, who managed to score points, narrow the gap. The first half ended with Nizwa leading of 36-27.
In the third quarter, Nizwa continued their offensive dominance by scoring more points. The third quarter ended with Nizwa leading Al Suwaiq 51-40.
Al Suwaiq put up a better performance in the fourth quarter, scoring 16 points to Nizwa's 15. However, Nizwa held on to secure the victory with a final score of 66-56.
Seeb Defeats Salalah
In the second match, Al Seeb defeated Salalah by a score of 60-38. Al Seeb put in a good performance, scoring points and widening the gap by the end of the match.
The match started with both teams performing equally in the first quarter, with Al Seeb ending the quarter with a one-point lead 12-11.
The second quarter saw a change in the game's script, with Al Seeb gaining the offensive advantage. They scored 17 points, while Salalah could only manage 4 points. Al Seeb ended the first half with a 29-15 lead.
The third quarter saw another change in the game, with Salalah gaining the upper hand. They scored 19 points, while Al Seeb scored 15 points. However, the difference in points from the first half tipped the scales in Al Seeb's favour, as they ended the third quarter with a 44-34.
In the fourth quarter, Al Seeb maintained their offensive and defensive dominance, scoring 16 points to Salalah's 4. The match ended with Al Seeb defeating Salalah by a score of 60-38.
