Muscat: The second round of the Youth Basketball League for the 2023-2024 season featured a triumph registered by Seeb Club as they defeated Nizwa 44-42 in a tight clash while Salalah managed to beat Suwaiq 77-26. Both matches played at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bousher.


The first encounter was exciting throughout its four quarters, with both teams sharing control and achieving a tie. The fifth quarter was the decisive factor as Seeb players managed to defeat Nizwa by two points. Abdul Rahman al Maamari, who scored 27 points, and Azad Al Balushi, who scored 13 points, stood out for Seeb. Yousef Al Shuraiki, who scored 12 points, and Akram Al Rashidi, who scored 10 points, stood out for Nizwa.

Nizwa started strong, winning the first quarter 17-6. Seeb tried to get back in the game in the second quarter, but Nizwa held on to their lead, winning the half 22-17.


Seeb continued their comeback in the third quarter, outscoring Nizwa 14-2 to take a 31-24 lead. The fourth quarter was close, with Nizwa tying the game at 42-42. However, Seeb scored five points in the fifth quarter to win the game 44-42.


In another match, Salalah Dominated Suwaiq 77-26. The Dhofar governertae based team led in all four quarters of the game. Salalah Club players delivered an outstanding performance which helped them to seal a valuable victory in the Youth Basketball League.
