Muscat: The latest weather analysis indicated that there are chances of rain with varying intensity that will continue to be scattered on the coastal and mountainous parts of the governorates of Musandam, Al Batinah North, Al Batinah South, Al Sharqiyah South and parts of the governorates of Al Sharqiyah North, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar. There are also chances of low cloud advection along parts of the coastal areas of Sea of Oman which may lead to isolated rains on Thursday.


The Civil Aviation Authority has advised all to take precaution during rainfall and flash flood and to check visibility and sea state before sailing and follow the issued weather bulletins and reports of the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre.

CDAA CONTINUES OPERATIONS


Search and rescue teams from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority in ⁧‫‬⁩Al Dakhiliyah Governorate continued searching for the missing person in Al Jabal Al Akhdhar on Wednesday, with the participation of a team of mobile search, including 'search dogs'.


The rains slowed down by Wednesday, but places like Sinaw continued to receive the downpour. However, the calls for help from wadis went on for one more day proving wadis were tricky still.


An accident that involved a fuel tanker falling onto its side while crossing a wadi in Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan showed it is difficult to gauge the depth no matter how big the vehicle is. Rescue teams from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority were able to rescue the tanker driver.


In Al Batinah North, a woman was stranded with her vehicle in the wadi and the CDAA team also successfully got her to safety.


In Al Sharqiyah South, two vehicles were stranded in the wadi and all the 12 individuals were rescued.


Rescue teams in Al Sharqiyah North were able to rescue two people after their vehicle was stuck in a wadi in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi.


The rescue teams in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate were able to rescue three people after their vehicle was stranded in Wadi Halfin in the Wilayat of Adam.


Till Wednesday, CDAA had been dealing with 273 emergency cases, a total of 34 road accidents, responding to 127 stranded people, 36 fire cases, 50 medical cases and 17 miscellaneous incidents during the period of low pressure.
