‘Omseyah’, ‘Bahja’ grab Al Bashayer cups in second day

MUSCAT: The competitions of 7th edition of annual Al Bashayer Camel Festival continued on Tuesday at Al Bashayer Square in the Wilayat of Adam in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.


The camel festival organised with the support of His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan.


The 6th day of competitions among participations from owners and racers from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman and GCC countries.


The second day's race was attended by 640 camels, challenged in 20 rounds allocated for the ‘Lagaya’ category, three years old, for 5 km divided into 15 races in the morning time with cash prize for the top 10. Five main races will start in the afternoon, with two cups, a rifle and five cars for the winners and cash prizes up to 10th place.

In opening round of the morning period, ‘Al Wazi’ was the champion, owned by Ali bin Said al Daree. ‘Sultanate’ snatched the second round, owned by Mubarak bin Amer al Habsi. ‘Mubhar’ claimed the third round, owned by Othman bin Hamoud al Daree.


As for the fourth round, ‘Al Dhabi’ was finished first, owned by Saif bin Mubarak al Mazrouei. The fifth round won by ‘Firasah’, owned by Mubarak bin Amer al Habsi. The sixth round grabbed by ‘Munjaz’, owned by Said bin Amer al Mughairi.


In the seventh round, ‘Asyad’ came in first place, owned by Mohammed bin Hamad al Zari. In the eighth round was ‘Al Ain’ on time, owned by Al Ghafiq bin Al Sagheer al Maliki.

The ninth round snatched by ‘Al Wa’I’, owned by Ali bin Salem al Ghailani. The tenth round ‘Hamloula’ finished first, owned by Sultan bin Mubarak al Habsi. The eleventh round won by ‘Al-Dhabi’, owned by Sami bin Al Hamdi al Daree. As for the second half ten ‘Ashqar’ was the hero, owned by Hamad bin Said al Qanoubi.


‘Al Shahiniya’ won the thirteenth round, owned by Ahmed bin Mohammed al Daree. ‘Reymah’ claimed the fourteenth round, owned by Ahmed bin Mohammed al Maliki. As for the fifteenth round, ‘Shaheen’ concluded the morning race, owned by Fahim bin Hamad al Jahafi.

In afternoon competitions, ‘Omseyah’ was the champion. Owned by Al Bashayer Camels and won the Al Bashayer Cup and a car. ‘Bahja’ grabbed the cup and the car, owned by Ali bin Fayel al Owaisi. ‘Malbi’ snatched the rifle and the third car, owned by Ali al Wahaibi. As for the fourth car, ’Al Dhabi’, owned by Faleh bin Yasser al Shamsi from UAE. ‘Heybah’ managed th fifth car, owned by Abdullah bin Hamad al Daree.


The chief guest Dr Faisal bin Ali al Zaidi, the Wali of Manah, honoured the evening competitions winners of the first places with cups, rifle and cars.


The third day competitions, Wednesday, will be for ‘Yathaa’ category, 4 years old, for 6 km race. Eleven races will be in the morning with cash prizes for the top 10. Four main races will be in the afternoon, the winners will have cars and cash prizes for the top ten
