Muscat: Dr Khamis bin Saif al Jabri, Chairman of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow up Unit, gave a visual presentation before the members of the Majlis Ash’shura, on Tuesday.
The visual presentation aimed at informing the members of the vision, its objectives, the government’s effort to make it successful, and what has been achieved so far. It was attended by Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of the Majlis Ash’shura, and Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of the Majlis Ash’shura as well as a number of council’s members.
During the presentation, Al Jabri referred to the plans, objectives and mechanisms for implementing the Oman Vision 2040 in accordance to the national priorities. He explained the most prominent indicators and the foundations for its implementation as well as the roles of follow-up units in all government institutions and their efforts to follow up on the implementation of the vision.
Meanwhile, the Office of Majlis Ash’shura reviewed a response from the Council of Ministers to the desire expressed by the Majlis Ash’shura regarding the efficiency of the tax system applied by the Tax Authority in collecting tax dues. The response stated that the government had previously approved a package of programmes related to the economy and development within the Tenth Five-year Development Plan linked to the Oman Vision 2040. Attached to the response was the Tax Authority’s views on the recommendations contained in the request.
This was discussed at the sixth regular meeting of the Office of Majlis Ash’shura for the first annual session of the tenth term (2023-2027), held under the chairmanship of Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of the Majlis Ash’shura, on Tuesday in the presence of Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of the Majlis Ash’shura, on Tuesday.
The Office also reviewed the Council of Ministers’ response to the briefing request regarding amendments to the passport data and personal photo. The response stated that the amendments to the passport data aimed to give the passport holder sufficient flexibility and to facilitate the process of movement of citizens wishing to travel to some countries that have some additional requirements for granting entry visas to its territories.
