Oman’s diverse landscape has once again proven to be the top attraction among yearning Spanish tourists at the 44th edition of Fitur, the annual International Tourism Fair held in Spain by IFEMA Madrid.
The world’s tourism professionals and attendees discovered Oman’s attractive landscapes and vibrant cultural scene at Fitur, thanks to Visit Oman, the Sultanate of Oman’s National Travel Operator, which marked its return with an active five-day participation recently.
The 3-day Expo was fruitful in strengthening ties across the Ibero-American market and expanding the reach of Omani tourism providers and SMEs. This dynamic showcase resulted in new partnerships and media interest, solidifying Oman’s position as a must-visit destination for Spanish and Latin American travellers.
“With the support of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, we at Visit Oman are committed to promoting the Sultanate of Oman as a top travel destination across existing and new source markets,” said Shabib bin Mohammed al Maamari, Managing Director of Visit Oman.
The opening ceremony of the Visit Oman pavilion at Fitur was attended by Omar bin Said al Kathiri, Oman’s Ambassador to Spain, Dr Hashil bin Obaid al Mahrouqi, CEO of OMRAN Group, and Haitham bin Mohammed al Ghassani, Director-General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.
“Visit Oman’s participation at Fitur displays our commitment to connecting vetted travel and tourism businesses in Oman with well-established trade partners from source markets worldwide,” he added.
With over 60 airlines, 100 hotels, and over 200 authentic experiences, including 80 per cent captivating experiences curated by local businesses, Visit Oman’s digitally native booking platform represented the diversity and richness of Omani tourism, now readily accessible to the world.
Adding value to Oman tourism, Visit Oman signed a new partnership with renowned adventure sports experts Taranna Trekking, pioneers in crafting unforgettable trekking adventures for over 20 years. This collaboration offers adventurers globally unforgettable treks across Oman’s majestic landscapes. Meanwhile, Visit Oman inked another strategic partnership with Exoticca, a leading online tour operator in the travel tech sector.
A word about Oman’s adventure potential was shared through insightful radio interviews with Spain’s national radio station RNE, and Onde Cero, discussing Oman’s unique cultural offerings and adventure opportunities to highlight Oman as a must-visit destination for Spanish travellers.
A dynamic showcase at Fitur 2024, bolstered by strategic partnerships and enthusiastic media coverage, firmly established Oman as a highly desirable destination for Spanish travellers seeking unique experiences.
