Under the patronage of His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, the Governor of Musandam, Bait Al Zubair unveiled the "Tale of a Photograph" exhibition and officially introduced the book bearing the same title on February 4. The book and the exhibition meticulously chronicle the adventures of the photographer and his companion from the 1990s. Each photograph narrates a unique story, unveiling a profound human connection to the place and its surroundings.
Photographer Khamis Al Muharbi, sharing insights about the showcased photos, expresses, "In this exhibition, my aim is to document the narratives concealed behind the images. Whether it's portraying cultural milestones in the Sultanate's governorates by showcasing the transformations, such as the Al Shuwaymiya road, or capturing immortal moments like the opportunity to photograph the late Sultan Qaboos in 2009 during his visit to Sohar, as well as covering social events such as Al Habtah and others."
Regarding the book, Al Muharbi elaborates, "The book comprises 30 stories, featuring pictures captured using both the traditional negative film method and modern digital techniques. It is available in two versions, Arabic and English. I am delighted to see it published today in the presence of this group of photography enthusiasts and specialists."
The exhibition will remain open until March 7 for those interested in visiting it at Bait Al Zubair every day, except Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
