Coinciding with the start of the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024, the new building of the Qalaat Al Fikr School for Basic Education for grades (1-4) opened its doors to students in Sahalnot.
Dr Mayzoon bint Bakhit al Shahriyah of the General Directorate of Education in Dhofar Governorate, and other officials attended the first day to check on the progress of work in the school.
Al Shahriyah said the school has the capacity for 840 boys and girls in 30 classrooms, activity halls, in addition to administrative facilities. The opening of new premises is in line with Royal directives to establish new schools in various regions of Oman to gradually reduce evening schools.
It is worth noting a committee has been set up to follow up construction and maintenance of school buildings. More buildings will be ready at the beginning of the next academic year 2024-2025. Maintenance is under way in other schools in the governorate.
