Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister reiterated that the Sultanate of Oman is following with great concern the continuing escalation in the region.

“The Sultanate of Oman considers the retaliatory military attacks launched by the United States on sites in Iraq and Syria pointless, and that launching such military attacks on sites in the region would threaten its safety and stability and would complicate efforts to find solutions to the challenges facing the region, including issues of violence and extremism”, he said.

He affirmed that despite the attacks on thousands of innocent civilians, including martyrs and wounded, children, youth, and women, there are no serious attempts for a ceasefire.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), the foreign minister said the only solution to the conflict lies in addressing its causes and motives, starting with the recognition of the independent Palestinian state and the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from all the occupied Palestinian territories.
