Muscat: Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, His Highness Sayyid Taimur bin Asaad al Said presided over the Annual Horse Race of Royal Cavalry on Monday in the Wilayat of Ibri in Al Dhahirah Governorate organised by the Royal Court Affairs and represented by the Royal Cavalry.
The race, which featured five rounds for purebred Arabian horses commenced with the “Hisn Al Maamour Race” for female Royal Cavalry riders and for a distance of 1,200 metres.
The second round was under title of “Hisn Al Muneikh Race” for a distance of 1,200 metres while the third round was the “Hisn Al Iraqi Race” for a distance of 1,600 metres.
The fourth round was the “Hosn Beit Al Marah Race” for the highest-ranked national horses in the 2023-2024 horse racing season for a distance of 1,600 metres while the horse riders competed in the fifth round, the “Hosn Ibri Race”, for a distance of 2,000 metres for the Cup of His Majesty the Sultan.
