Muscat: Seeb claimed a dominating win over Qurayat 48-10 in the third round of the Youth Basketball League 2023-24 at Seeb Club courts. With this victory, Seeb advanced to the top of the standings with 15 points in the overall rankings for the season. The game unfolded in favour of Seeb, who dominated in the first three periods, securing their win and increasing the point difference. Qurayat's efforts in the fourth quarter couldn't overcome the point gap, ultimately favouring Seeb.
Seeb started with offensive pressure and defensive excellence, successfully thwarting all the attacks executed by Qurayat players. Seeb took the lead with Azzan al Ajmi scoring three successful shots, earning a total of 6 points. Seeb continued their advancement with Omar al Khawas scoring two points, while the defence successfully countered Qurayat's attacks. The gameplay advantage remained with Seeb, who managed to score and add 9 points, concluding the first quarter with Seeb leading by 19-0.
In the second quarter, Seeb maintained their offensive and defensive superiority. Mamar AbdulSalam scored two points with a shot from under the basket, and his team-mate Azzan al Ajmi added two more. Seeb continued their high-pressure attack, scoring 9 points, while Qurayat managed to score only 3 points. The first half ended with Seeb leading Qurayat 32-3.
In the third quarter, Seeb continued the high-pressure attack and scoring more points with a strong defence. Seeb scored 14 points, while Qurayat managed only 2 points. The third quarter ended with Seeb leading Qurayat 46-5. In the fourth quarter, the dynamics of the game shifted slightly, especially for Qurayat, who improved in both offensive and defensive aspects, scoring 5 points.
However, Seeb only managed to score 2 points. The match concluded with Seeb defeating Qurayat 48-10. The match was officiated by Mazen al Hilali as the first referee, Wahab al Senani as the second referee, Hussein al Owaimari as the third referee while Majid al Hamdani, Ghaleb al Hasani and Shareefa al Zadjali oversaw the table proceedings.
