Muscat: The Oman Authority for Academic for Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAQA) has issued a statement canceling the institutional accreditation status granted to Sur University College.
To ensure the quality of education, the authority issued a decision to cancel the accreditation certificate granted to Sur University College in September 2022.
The Authority’s Resolution 17/2024 said the cancellation of the institutional accreditation status granted to Sur University College by the Authority, and the withdrawal of
the institutional accreditation certificate.
The decision also indicated the necessity of the college’s commitment not to publish anything that would mislead the public regarding the canceled accreditation status, and not to indicate in its publications, documents, website, and others that it continues to enjoy institutional accreditation.
It may be noted that the decision of the Authority was based on the college’s violation of the regulations and policies issued by the authority and its failure to report several fundamental changes, which had a direct impact on the status of institutional accreditation that was previously granted to it.
