TEHRAN: The Sultanate of Oman rejected all excuses and justifications cited by Israel for waging war and genocide on the Palestinian people, and noted that the Israeli military actions violated the principles of international law and humanitarian values.

This was stated by Tahir bin Mabkhout al Junaibi, Deputy Chairman of the Majlis Ash’shura, who represented the Sultanate of Oman at the fifth emergency meeting of the Permanent Committee on Palestine of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC). He also took part in the first meeting of Palestine committee at the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA). The meetings were held in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the PUIC emergency meeting, Al Junaibi underscored the stance of the government and people of the Sultanate of Oman in condemning the persistent Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, along with calls for an immediate ceasefire and allowing the entry of humanitarian aid.

Moreover, the two meetings discussed the atrocious consequences of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. They emphasised means by which parliaments could support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in obtaining their legitimate rights. — ONA
