Temperatures are likely to fall further towards the weekend, according to Oman Met Office experts.
Jabal Shams has been recording temperatures as low as 1.5 degrees Celsius, while Saiq in Al Jabal Al Akhdhar has recorded 8 degrees Celsius. Even the temperature in Thamrait touched 15 degrees Celsius at night.
Yet in other parts people are of the opinion that the winter months have not approached yet.
There have been flow and formation of clouds over Musandam Governorate and parts of the governorates of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, Muscat and North Al Sharqiyah, accompanied by scattered rain this week.
The weather forecaster at Oman Met Office said while the next three days are expected to be same, during the weekend the temperatures could dip by one or two degrees.
“This is especially on the mountains and in desert areas,” he pointed out.
Along the Sea of Oman winds will be northeasterly light to moderate at day time becoming variable light at night, and over rest of the governorates winds will be northeasterly to easterly light to moderate occasionally fresh along the Arabian Sea coasts.
Oman Met Office also reported that there are chances of cloud development over Al Hajar Mountains.
There are also chances of low clouds or fog patches at late night to early morning along parts of the coastal areas of the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman and parts of Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi and Al Dakhiliyah governorates.
