The General Commission for the Pavilion of the Sultanate of Oman, in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Muscat, hosted a reception ceremony to celebrate Oman's participation in Expo 2025 Japan-Osaka scheduled to take place from April 13 to October 13 next year on Osaka Island in Japan.
The ceremony, attended by Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Commissioner General Sayyid Said bin Sultan al Busaidy, and Yamamoto Jota, Japanese Ambassador to Oman, featured visual materials highlighting the concept of Oman's pavilion and its participation in such a global event.
The event featured a visual presentation on the architectural design and visual identity of Oman's pavilion, emphasising the chance to showcase Oman's rich cultural heritage and engage with the world creatively.
Al Yousef expressed Oman's commitment to enhancing industry, trade and international relations through its participation in Expo 2025 Japan-Osaka. He emphasised the significant opportunity to showcase Oman's economic, industrial and commercial capabilities, fostering experience exchange and strategic partnerships with participating nations.
In his comments, Sayyid Said explained that Oman's participation in the global event, themed 'Designing the Future Society for Our Lives,' is an authentic expression. "Oman joins hands with the cultures of the world, showcasing its past, present and future," he said.
"Oman's participation in the expo is a true reflection of our ambitious vision and desire to enhance progress and sustainable development across various fields. It mirrors the efforts Oman invests in achieving sustainable development goals," he added.
Expo 2025 serves as a unique global platform for showcasing achievements and exchanging experiences, and Oman remains committed to enhancing international cooperation and forming partnerships with participating nations, working closely with international partners to exchange expertise and knowledge.
Japanese Ambassador Yamamoto stated that Expo 2025 Osaka provides a unique opportunity for people to take action for a better and sustainable future. He expressed personal anticipation for seeing Oman's beautiful pavilion in Osaka again and emphasised the significance of participating in this international exhibition to deepen awareness of Oman among Japanese friends and the global community.
