MUSCAT: A number of Omani officials offered their condolences today on the death of the late Emir of Kuwait Shaikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber al Sabah at the premises of the Kuwaiti Embassy in Muscat.


They were received by Mohammed Nasser Madhi Al Hajri, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Sultanate of Oman, and members of the diplomatic mission.


The officials expressed their sincere condolences and sympathy to the Kuwaiti brethren. They commended the positive role of the late Emir in consolidating bonds of fraternity and developing relations between Oman and Kuwait. They reaffirmed the steadfastness of the two countries’ ties that are deep-rooted in history.


The ambassador and other members of the Kuwaiti mission expressed their deep thanks and appreciation for the valuable visit made yesterday by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the State of Kuwait where he personally offered condolences to Shaikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.


The mission members cited the great impact that His Majesty the Sultan’s visit made on Kuwaiti people. They wished the Sultanate of Oman further progress and prosperity in the reign of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.


At the conclusion of the visit, the Omani officials signed the Visitors’ Register, in which they noted down expressions of condolence and commiseration. In their notes, they prayed to Allah the Almighty to have mercy on the deceased’ soul and endow the State of Kuwait with further security and prosperity. — ONA
