MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik returned home on Sunday, following a three-day state visit to the Republic of India.
His Majesty was received at the Royal Airport by HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, HH Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Shaikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of the Majlis Ash'shura, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Interior, Nasr bin Hamoud al Kindi, Secretary-General of the Royal Court Affairs, Lt Gen Hasan bin Mohsin al Shraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs, Lt Gen Said bin Ali al Hilali, Head of the Internal Security Service, Dr Mohammed bin Said al Maamari, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health, Maj Gen Matar bin Salim al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman, Air Vice Marshal Khamis bin Hammad al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman, Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman and Maj Gen Musallam bin Mohammed Ja’aboub Commander of the Sultan’s Special Force.
During the visit, His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied by an high-ranking official delegation that comprised HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, Dr Hamad bin Said al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Eng Salim bin Nasser al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, Pankaj Khimji, Adviser for Foreign Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large at the Foreign Ministry and Issa bin Saleh al Shaibani, Ambassador of Oman to India.
Earlier in the day, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik left New Delhi, following a state visit to the Republic of India. During the visit, His Majesty the Sultan conducted talks with the Indian President and the Prime Minister of India.
His Majesty was seen off upon departure by V Muralidharan, Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs (Head of the Mission of Honour), Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to Oman, Issa bin Saleh al Shaibani, Ambassador of Oman to India, and members of Oman’s Embassy in New Delhi.
Upon his departure, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has sent a cable of thanks and appreciation to President Droupadi Murmu of the Republic of India, and Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
In the cable, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his sincere thanks and sentiments to the President and the Prime Minister for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to him and his accompanying delegation.
His Majesty the Sultan hailed his meetings with the India President and the Prime Minister of India as a valuable opportunity to discuss Omani-Indian relations that are deep-rooted in history. His Majesty pointed out that the meeting also offered chances to consolidate cooperation between them in various fields, to serve the interests of the Omani and Indian peoples.
His Majesty the Sultan wished the President and the Prime Minister good health and well-being, to meet the Indian people’s aspirations for further progress and prosperity.
AUDIENCE
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik gave an audience at his residency in New Delhi on Sunday to a number of business people in the Republic of India. During the audience, His Majesty the Sultan exchanged views with them on a set of economic and trade topics.
His Majesty urged them to explore the promising investment opportunities available in various fields in the Sultanate of Oman. On their turn, the business people expressed their great honour to have an audience with His Majesty. They affirmed that this audience would contribute to augmenting the trade and investment exchange between the two countries.
The audience was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan during his visit to India. — ONA
