SALALAH: The Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Recreation in Salalah buzzed with excitement on Tuesday as the first Higher Education Institutions Exhibition kicked off. Organised by the Directorate General of Education in Dhofar Governorate in collaboration with the Murshid Professional Platform, the three-day event aims to bridge the gap between students and representatives from various colleges and universities, empowering them to make informed decisions about their educational and professional futures.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mohammed bin Hassan al Ansi, member of the Majlis Ash'shura, and Dr Maizoon bint Bakhit al Shihriyah, Acting Director General of Education in Dhofar, alongside other dignitaries. The high-profile attendance underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in fostering educational opportunities for Dhofar's youth.

Dr Nasima bint Mohammed al Mashaykhiyah, Head of the Professional Guidance Department, emphasised the exhibition's role in bridging the gap between the public and private sectors. "This event aims to raise awareness about the diverse higher education options available and equip students and parents with the knowledge they need to make informed choices," she stated.

The exhibition provides a unique platform for students and parents to interact directly with representatives from 13 prestigious institutions. This includes Mazoon College, Al Bayan College, Majan University College, the Scientific College of Design, the Global College of Engineering, Nizwa University, Al Sharqiya University, Gulf College, the National University, Oman College of Health Sciences, the Professional College, the Murshid Professional Platform, and the College of Islamic Sciences.

Dr Nasima highlighted the exhibition's impact in empowering students. "By providing direct access to information and guidance from leading institutions, we aim to equip students with the tools they need to prioritise their specialisation choices and select appropriate academic subjects for their future aspirations," she explained.

This inaugural event serves as a significant step in enhancing the educational landscape of Dhofar. By connecting students with diverse educational opportunities and providing them with valuable guidance, the First Higher Education Institutions Exhibition empowers them to chart their future paths with confidence.
