The Korea-Oman Green Hydrogen Strategic Forum 2023, held against the backdrop of the Green Hydrogen Summit Oman (GHSO), provided a platform for industry leaders to share invaluable insights.
The first session, focusing on the Development of Green Hydrogen Supply Chain and Eco-System, saw the participation of prominent figures in the field:
Dr. Chang-Keun Yi, President of the Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER), brought his expertise to the forum. Dr Abdullah Al Abri, an Energy & Investment Consultant from the International Energy Agency (IEA) in France, added an international perspective. Dr. Firas al Abduwani, Director General of Renewable Energy & Hydrogen at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral in Oman, contributed valuable insights into the nation's commitment to sustainable energy. Eng Abdulaziz al Shidhani, Managing Director of HYDROM, rounded out the panel with his expertise in hydrogen development.
The second session, centered on the Development of Hydrogen Industrial Infrastructure and Mobility, featured a distinguished panel of industry experts:
Dr. Khalil al Hanashi, Coordinator of the National Hydrogen Alliance (HY-FLY), shared insights into the alliance's efforts. Tae-Hyung Kim, Vice President of Hydrogen Business at POSCO Holdings, provided a corporate perspective. Seung-Yup Lee, Vice President of E-Mobility & Energy Solution Division at GS Energy, offered expertise on the intersection of mobility and hydrogen. Kwang-Ho Lee, Regional Representative at Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) Middle East & CIS, highlighted the role of power corporations in this transition. Nabil Nachi, Head of MEA New Business at Hyundai Motor, shared the automotive industry's perspective. Jay Koo, Director of Business Development Division at G-Philos, concluded the session with insights into business development.
The sessions showcased a collaborative effort to pave the way for a greener future, aligning with the forum's mission to drive sustainable energy development on a global scale. The diverse expertise of the speakers illuminated crucial aspects of the hydrogen industry, emphasizing the importance of international partnerships in achieving a sustainable and low-emission energy landscape.
