Pacts signed to set up inspection units, labour welfare facilities

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour and the Security and Safety Corporation has signed an agreement to launch an inspection unit, which will provide security support services and operate the labor welfare facilities.


The scope of the agreement includes transporting violators to the labor welfare facilities, the Ministry of Labour, Public Prosecution, or any relevant entity within the inspection system.


It also includes regulating workers violating labor laws, providing security, operational maintenance, and other necessary services to operate and manage labor welfare activities.


Major General Abdullah bin Ali al Harthi, Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Security and Safety Corporation, " This system will be accompanied by training for the human workforce and logistical preparedness. There will also be arrangements for accommodation facilities, facilitating integration within the legal frameworks of relevant authorities. Additionally, this agreement opens up avenues for more job opportunities in the security and safety sector, contributing to the labor market's development and stability."


Dr. Mahad bin Said Ba'owain, the Minister of Labour, said, The role undertaken by the inspection sector requires a qualitative proficiency that enables it to perform its tasks with effectiveness and quality. We aim to enhance this through the memorandum of cooperation that we have signed with the Security and Safety Corporation to establish a joint inspection unit. It aligns closely with the objectives of the national vision ."
