AL BURAIMI: The development process in Al Buraimi Governorate is steadily advancing ahead with many development projects spanning the economic, agricultural, cultural, health and other sectors, currently under implementation.
Focus is laid on the infrastructure sectors and investment studies for developing new sites as part of future projects in addition to road pavement projects with a total length of 100 km.
This was stated by Sayyid Dr Hamad bin Ahmed al Busaidy, Governor of Al Buraimi. He stressed the importance of following the implementation of the development projects in the tourist and economic sectors in the governorate.
The governor stated that in an effort to achieve the pillars of the 'Oman Vision 2040' and develop the various sectors in the governorate, 104 agreements were signed that include development and operational projects in the governorate during the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, confirming that the number of development projects in the governorate reached 77 projects with a total value of about RO 14 million most notably Al Buraimi Oasis project, Downtown Al Buraimi and the artificial lake project, the implementation of which commenced in October this year.
Eight consultancy studies had been offered for the development of sites and projects in various wilayats of the governorate.
This is in addition to projects for the designing, constructing and paving of internal roads and lighting networks in various villages and regions in the governorate, the governor said, explaining that the paving of internal roads in the Wilayat of of Al Sinaina has been completed all with the implementation rate at the Hafeet-Al Sinaina road lighting project currently at 90 per cent.
Another package has been approved for the pavement of a total of 100 kilometres.
Road construction projects are in line with the urbanisation strategy which aims to link villages to cities via roads.
