Al Seeb Club triumphs over Salalah in OBL

MUSCAT: Al Seeb Club demonstrated its prowess at second round of Oman Basketball League, by defeating Salalah Club with an impressive scoreline of 96-36. The intense match unfolded at the sub-arena of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.


The match witnessed a clear dominance by Al Seeb Club, which managed to outperform Salalah both strategically and on the field, imposing its style of play and winning all four quarters of the game. The players excelled, particularly the players Bryce, Abdulrahman al Shuaibi, Rashid al Zahibi, Al Waqas al Hinai and Ahmed al Sinani, who contributed significantly to Al Seeb's victory.


The game started with a clear advantage for Al Seeb's players, who capitalised on opportunities and defended against Salalah's attacks in the first four minutes, taking a 13-point lead without any response from Salalah. Despite Salalah's attempts to counter, Al Seeb's players, led by Rashid al Zahibi, Nooh al Balushi and Al Waqas al Hinai, added 9 more points, extending their lead to 22-2. The first quarter concluded with Al Seeb firmly in control at 30-6.


In the second quarter, Salalah fought to narrow the gap, with notable plays from Mohammed al Hawari and Faisal Abdulnabi contributing four points. However. Al Seeb regained momentum and doubled the score with successful shots from the players Bryce, Hassan al Faraji and Abdulrahman al Shuaibi, leading Al Seeb to a 46-10 advantage. Both teams continued their offensive efforts, with each side scoring points, and the first half ended with Al Seeb leading Salalah 54-12.


In the third quarter, Al Seeb maintained its offensive advantage, with its players taking turns scoring points, registering 26 points, while Salalah added 12 points. The third quarter concluded with Al Seeb leading Salalah 80-24.


The fourth quarter saw continued back-and-forth attacks, with Al Seeb players adding 16 points and Salalah adding 12 points. The match concluded with Al Seeb Club defeating Salalah Club with a score of 96-36.


International referee Ahmed al Balushi officiated as the first referee, with Taha al Amri as the second referee and Wafaa al Sumairi as the third referee. Officiating at the table were Yaqoub al Nadabi, Al Mahdi al Amri and Shareefa al Zadjali.
