MUSCAT: The Muscat Dialogue Sessions represents a tangible manifestation of the Royal directives and commitment to empowering Omani youth in line with the goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040.
The inaugural session, themed ‘Towards a sustainable and prosperous future’ commenced on Monday under the auspices of Saud bin Hilal al Busaidy, Governor of Muscat. Diverse segments of society, including youth, college and university students, and individuals invested in developmental discourse, graced the occasion.
Conceived as a proactive measure, these sessions aim to foster a robust community partnership, aggregating the nation's young minds' perspectives, ideas, proposals, outlooks, and aspirations towards a prosperous future.
Governor Saud al Busaidy highlighted the importance of the dialogues and said, "This year’s Muscat dialogue sessions are designed to meet with youth aspirations and listen to their opinions. We hope that there will be applicable ideas and proposals during the third day of these meetings, and we will strive for these ideas and projects to find their way to implementation."
He highlighted the initiative to develop the Qurum commercial area and called for support to enhance the facades of buildings in alignment with the region's desired developmental trajectory.
The programme spans two days and encompasses four pivotal themes.
Initiating with the 'Humanisation of Cities and the Entertainment Industry,' discussions aim to generate ideas and visions that contribute to transforming cities into more livable and attractive spaces. Environmental volunteering is accorded focus, emphasizing its role in fostering sustainability amidst the myriad challenges faced by the living environment.
The sessions also delve into crucial aspects, such as exploring promising investment opportunities in Muscat Governorate and their contribution to the national economy.
The theme of 'Technology and Innovation' is a cornerstone, emphasising the pivotal role of innovative technical methods in service delivery to align with contemporary developments.
Experts from diverse sectors participated in theme presentations, fostering an environment of idea exchange and proposal discussions. Their oversight extends to community groups engaged in priority projects. The comprehensive session programme is slated to conclude on Wednesday, heralding a significant step towards the realisation of Oman Vision 2040.
