The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a cooperation programme with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) to promote and develop the small and medium enterprises sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
The programme comes within the framework of the Chamber’s strategic directions to improve the business environment and expand the base of economic diversification in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 in achieving sustainable economic development and creating economic leadership.
Shaikh Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Halima bint Rashid bin Sulaiman al Zariyah, Chairperson of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, signed the programme.
It aims to support and enable micro, small and medium enterprises to grow, expand and implement programmes and activities that enhance training and empower entrepreneurs.
Khalfan al Khatri, Assistant Director of the Marketing and Events Department, said: “This signing comes in an effort to continue empowering owners of small and medium enterprises, raising their competitive capabilities, and harnessing technology to ensure that small and medium enterprises keep pace with rapid changes, in addition to opening new opportunities for their expansion locally, regionally, and globally.”
The cooperation programme includes providing consultation and guidance services to entrepreneurs, implementing specialised training programmes and organising exhibitions.
