Muscat: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has launched the Arrivals and Departures Survey (2023/2024), aimed at providing key inputs to the decision-makers in developing the tourism sector as part of Oman Vision 2040.

Through this project, the number of tourists visiting the Sultanate of Oman will be estimated and their demographic, economic, and social characteristics will be analyzed, according to NCSI.

"Information collected from this project will help understand the real status of the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman, and thus contribute to developing appropriate plans and addressing the challenges."

NCSI called on all respondents to cooperate with the researchers and give them the accurate required data, which will be kept confidential and used only for statistical purposes as per the Statistics and Information Law, promulgated by Royal Decree No (55/2019).

The survey will target arriving and departing visitors at Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport, and six land ports - Khatmat Malaha, Al-Wajjah, Al-Khatm, Hamasa, Hafeet, and Al Dara crossings.
