Muscat - Dr. Alain Berset, President of the Swiss Confederation, and his Spouse today visited Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, within the context of his current official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The President of the Swiss Confederation and his accompanying delegation were received upon their arrival at the Grand Mosque by Habib Mohammed al Riyami, Chairman of Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science.
During the visit, the guest was briefed on the mosque’s history and its Omani and Islamic architectural designs.
He also went on a tour of the mosque’s facilities, such as the Institute of Islamic Sciences, the Library, the lecture hall, and other facilities.
The President of the Swiss Confederation and his spouse were accompanied during the visit by Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health (Head of the Mission of Honour), and Dr. Madiha Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education.
